Verónica Eddy

Verónica was born in Buenos Aires but grew up in Patagonia — “her place in the world” — having arrived there when she was just ten days old. She has lived in Esquel since 1982. A passionate English teacher, Vero has also been a dedicated birdwatching guide for nearly 13 years. What began as a hobby, and with a gentle push from her cousin Benjamín, soon became her summer vocation.

Birdwatching is one of her greatest joys, and at El Encuentro she loves sharing this passion with guests. Each season offers something special: spring brings the return of migratory birds, summer sees the young chicks take their first flights, autumn gathers flocks preparing to head north, and winter welcomes parrots and owls seeking shelter. For Vero, every walk is a chance to discover, listen, and connect with Patagonia’s birdlife.
